Morepork Vineyard was planted by Phil and Rosemary Minehan on their property near Kerikeri in Northland. The vineyard comprised two very small single variety blocks on an early ripening, sheltered, sunny north facing site.

It takes its name form the resident Morepork, the vineyard dog is Ruru a speedy golden cocker spaniel who loves his pest control duty.

Our goal has always been to produce quality wine for the local market. Morepork Pinot Gris has received awards every year since first vintage in 2009 and in 2017 was included in Michael Cooper's "The Country's 25 best Pinot Gris" article in NZ Listener - 21st October 2017. Pages: 42-43.
